Another Amazing You

Another Amazing You

Jul 10, 2019 | Posted by Lynn | Lifestyle |

It has been several months since the last, “You are Amazing”. We have selected a few more gems for you to share. The architect of this Amazing machine carefully designed each section. The brain, the vascular and muscular/skeletal construction is second to none. The sleek design of the internal workings synchronize the entire unit with an electrical current. The precision of sustainable pounds of pressure that can be exerted onto nearly 26 bones, 30 joints and 100 muscles for running, jumping, standing is just phenomenal. We hope you enjoy this exploration of the human body.

Please leave a message and share  these with friends, family and co-workers.

  • You get a new stomach lining every three to four days. The strong digestive juices would burn out the stomach if the lining wasn’t replaced.
  • The aorta is nearly the diameter of a garden hose. This artery supplies rich, oxygenated blood to the entire body.
  • Sneezes can exceed 100 mph. This could be why we close our eyes when we sneeze.
  • Your teeth start growing 6 months before you are born. These teeth buds begin growing during  weeks 9-12 of fetal development.
  • About one third of the human race has 20/20 vision. Two-thirds have less than perfect vision.
  • Your eyes are always the same size from birth but your nose and ears never stop growing.
  • Over 90% of diseases are caused or complicated by stress. High blood pressure, heart disease, depression the root cause could be stress.
  • The hardest bone in the human body is the jawbone. Gives ‘taking it on the chin’ a whole new meaning.
  • The tooth is the only part of the human body that can’t repair itself.
  • Humans shed and regrow outer skin cells about every 27 days.  This may explain your dusty house. Yes, under your bed, on the bookshelf, it’s you shedding.
  • Your body gives off enough heat in 30 minutes to bring half a gallon of water to a boil.  Our temperature of  98.6 degrees Fahrenheit is needed to maintain the functions of the body.
  • The brain is much more active at night than during the day. When you turn off your brain turns on.
  • Human hair is virtually indestructible. Hair is resistant to and harsh, corrosive chemicals. It doesn’t feel pain when cut or burned. It can not be destroyed by cold, climate change, or water.
  • The human heart creates enough pressure to squirt blood 30 feet.
  • The human body is estimated to have 60,000 miles of blood vessels. The distance around the earth is about 25,000 miles. So your blood vessels would go around the Earth 2.5 times.
  • Earwax production is necessary for good ear health. The wax protects the delicate inner ear from bacteria, fungus, dirt and even insects all while it is cleaning the ear canal.
  • It takes 17 muscles to smile and 43 to frown.
  • Three hundred million cells die in the human body every minute.
  • Every day an adult body produces 300 billion new cells.  You are renewing and evolving daily. What, old? you are brand new.
